Pinterest is a social pin-board site that gets more traffic than Twitter and Linkedin combined. It allows its users to pin their favorite images and thoughts. Pinterest’s popularity is rising, with over 5 million visitors visiting the site every day.
Businesses have turned to Pinterest to promote their businesses and drive traffic to their site. They create various attractive boards and pin images of their business products or services with the hope that other pinners will share their content by repinning or simply clicking on the pin to visit their website directly. Viewers can simply click on pins to visit the website because Pinterest allow users to insert a URL to their pins.
Now Pinterest has made it personalized and introduced its weekly newsletter, making it easy to find great pins and helping businesses or individuals to keep tabs on how their pins are doing. Pinterest’s weekly newsletter inspired by the website’s pin board style; each pin or board in the letter is linked to the website. Users, however, cannot re-pin or like a post directly from the newsletter. The newsletter also features popular boards, pins from friends, and popular pins of the week. Now businesses can better understand what images users love the most and how to use this information to create new ideas for their pinning strategies.
